The State of the Deskless Workforce 2022: US Results

Do you really know who's in the driver's seat?

90% of organizations rely on deskless workers to keep their businesses running. But there’s been a big shift in who sits behind the wheel.  Frontline workers are using their influence to demand change that is sure to shape the future of the workforce. For this report, we surveyed 1,500 deskless workers in the US to more deeply understand their struggles and frustrations as well as their needs, wants, and goals.

This is what we found out:

  • 54% considered quitting their job in the last year

  • 74% believe they have a good chance of finding a new job

  • 24% would rather have a flexible schedule than higher pay

The deskless workforce is often categorized as hourly or shift employees. They are the lifeblood of our economy and often frontline workers. When the global pandemic hit in 2020, the future seemed bleak. Now, deskless workers are asking more of their employers and taking back control.
