Indoor playground Rabatzz combines scheduling and communication in one app—with Quinyx

Rabatzz is Hamburg's largest indoor playground, offering a 3,500 m² play paradise for young and old alike. A team of 150 employees works 365 days a year to ensure that all guests feel comfortable and have fun. In addition, there are events such as the 18+ evening, the Zwergenalarm (dwarf alarm) and children's birthday parties. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, Rabatzz uses the Quinyx solution.

In this interview, Deniz Saylan (management & IT administration), Lina-Sophie Schulz (team leader), and Ema Nabil (employee) provide insights into their everyday work with Quinyx and the advantages of flexible scheduling, communication via app, and the AI-supported chat assistant.

 

 

Flexibility and involvement in the work schedule for a young team

Before Quinyx was introduced, the team worked with Excel and email lists. Deniz Saylan is a member of the management team and is responsible for the IT landscape. He emphasizes the strengths of the digital tool:

"We work with around 150 employees, mostly school and university students, and since we need to communicate quickly with all of them, we need a flexible system – Quinyx is ideal for this. Quinyx gives me instant updates on when I have to work, where I'm working, and whether my shift has been shortened or extended."

Having a young workforce also comes with its own set of challenges: school schedules, lecture times, and exam periods have to be coordinated with the scheduling process. This is where planning via the app, which can also be used to indicate availability, proves to be a great advantage: “As a student, you are very flexible in your everyday life and have free time that you want to plan better. In the Quinyx app, you can quickly see whether there are any free shifts available in the next few days that you can easily pick” explains Deniz.

 

Seamless communication and intelligent assistance for employees

Lina-Sophie Schulz is a team leader and started out as an employee at Rabatzz herself. She knows both sides of the business – planning and working on the shop floor – and is excited about the developments in the Quinyx app:

"One feature we were really excited about is the Employee Hub. We can integrate employee trainings, share information, and we write a weekly newsletter to keep everyone on the team up to date with the latest changes. Because it's only a mini-job, we're particularly happy about the AI chat feature. Every employee can simply ask their question there and doesn't have to ask me and the information is 100% correct, as we have entered it into the system beforehand. This way, everything is carried out exactly as required.

There are often questions about ingredients in the Rabatzz restaurant area. Lina explains how AI helps here: “Because we were able to upload our allergen list to the app, we can simply ask the AI chatbot, ‘Is there gluten in this product?’. This helps us a lot to protect our guests.”

 

Easy to learn and everything important at a glance

Ema Nabil is an employee at Rabatzz and uses the Quinyx app regularly. The calendar feature allows her to quickly and easily see when she is working and with whom.

She appreciates the opportunity to book shifts herself and have a say in the schedule: “I think it's good that we can specify times and choose our own days.”

At Rabatzz, new employees initially receive only a short document with a few key points about Quinyx – this is usually sufficient, as the app is easy to learn and intuitive to use.

“Once you understand it, it's really simple” says Ema.

Lina adds how easy scheduling is for her as a team leader: “I didn't need any further training to create the schedule, check time tracking, or handle vacation requests via Quinyx. Everyone can use it without any problems, regardless of age.”
