Stockmann Adopts Quinyx as its Workforce Management System

Stockmann, a Finnish department store chain established in 1862 in Helsinki, is one of the largest and most renowned department stores in the Nordic region. As part of the Lindex Group, Stockmann operates eight stores across Finland and the Baltic countries, employing 1,680 people. The stores offer a diverse range of products, including fashion, beauty items, home decor, and delicacies.

Situation Before Quinyx: Multiple Systems

Stockmann was doing an extensive renewal of its human resources management system, which also included upgrading to a more modern workforce management solution. The objective was to standardize scheduling across different countries by implementing a unified system.

“We were using several different systems in different countries; some systems were outdated, and we even used Excel for scheduling shifts. The situation was not as bad in all countries, such as Finland, but the old system lacked development opportunities,” explains Nina Urho, Workforce Planning Manager at Stockmann. 

Why Stockmann Chose Quinyx

Successful Start and Excellent Adoption among Employees

The implementation project started in September 2023. The first shifts using Quinyx were logged in Estonia in May 2024, followed by Finland and Latvia in June 2024. The WFM project proceeded as planned. “The project was well-structured, and we were always clearly informed about the project status. It was important to us that there were enough people involved in the project so that we could get help quickly if problems arose.”

Both employees and managers have responded positively to Quinyx. “The Quinyx mobile app has been widely adopted, and employees have found the intuitive interface easy to use from the beginning.”

Better Optimization and Reporting

Quinyx brings clarity and efficiency to data and reporting. Processes are more unified, as the same system is in use in all countries. Nina highlights the improvements in optimization and efficiency: “I believe that with Quinyx’s AI functionalities, we can increase efficiency and ensure that the right skills are scheduled in the right place at the right time.”
