Müller & Egerer bakery engages employees with dynamic, digital workforce management
The bakery and pastry company Müller & Egerer operates over 70 stores in northwestern Germany and employs around 900 people. When looking for new software for workforce management, Quinyx was the chosen solution. In this interview, Eva Flaspöhler (Head of HR) Anne Goeres (Deputy Manager of Workforce Management and Recruiting) and Jan Kuhlmann (Store Manager) talk about their experiences with Quinyx and how the new tool has impacted their daily work.
Dynamic, smart, digital, and employee-focused
Before Quinyx was introduced, scheduling was still very administrative and left little room for flexibility. Eva Flaspöhler, Head of HR, reports that the company was looking for a system that would enable this kind of flexibility, for example through shift swap requests.

For a workforce with different cultures and different age groups – from trainees to experienced employees approaching retirement – a tool was needed that was attractive and easy to use for everyone. Employees should be able to see from home when they are working, which shifts they are scheduled for, and what their time balance looks like.
Eva draws a positive conclusion: “These were some of the key benefits of Quinyx: We can focus on the wishes of our employees in a dynamic, smart, digital, and employee-oriented way.”
More work-life balance, less paperwork
Jan manages one of the Müller & Egerer stores and is delighted with the benefits Quinyx offers: “Quinyx has eliminated all the paperwork. We now do everything via a mobile app, which saves us a lot of work and is also much easier.”
Instead of maintaining schedules by hand, Jan and his colleagues now only need to “press a button and move things around a bit” — leaving more time for customers and important tasks in the store.
The Quinyx app has also made it easier to view schedules from home and have more say in your own schedule. Employees can submit requests, manage absences, or swap shifts. Jan emphasizes that this has had a significant impact on work-life balance.
A tool that can grow with your needs
Anne Goeres is currently responsible for scheduling and recruiting. She was involved in the implementation of Quinyx and continues to monitor the use and further development of the system. She works with a Quinyx Customer Success Manager to analyze usage rates on a regular basis.

Anne says: “We've found that we have a usage rate of 97% within seven days. This also confirms that everything is running really well and that we can reach virtually every employee within seven days.”
Anne is also optimistic that there is even more potential for using Quinyx. Müller & Egerer can imagine using Quinyx's AI-powered workforce management to make even better forecasts and thus make scheduling even more efficient.
“That's why it's good to have a system that grows and develops with us,” Anne sums up.
